Dear Grace,
How are you, my dear sister? I hope all is well with you and that your work is going smoothly. I am writing to tell you about how I spent my last holiday productively. Unlike previous holidays, this one was very meaningful, and I believe you will be happy to hear how I managed my time.
The holiday began with a plan to balance studies, skill acquisition, and relaxation. I started each day early, waking up at 5:30 a.m. to revise my school subjects. I dedicated specific hours to Mathematics, English, and Science, solving past questions and practicing exercises. This helped me refresh my memory and improve my understanding of difficult topics.
Apart from academics, I decided to learn a new skill in tailoring. I enrolled in a local tailoring workshop where I learned how to measure, cut, and stitch simple garments. By the end of the holiday, I was able to make basic shirts and skirts. This not only kept me busy but also gave me a skill that can be useful in the future.
I also devoted time to reading books that improve my knowledge and creativity. I read novels, short stories, and motivational books that taught me valuable life lessons. Reading each day improved my vocabulary and writing skills, which will definitely help me in my school assignments and examinations.
During the holiday, I participated in community service. I helped organize a clean-up campaign in our neighbourhood and assisted in a local library by arranging books and guiding children. It felt very rewarding to contribute positively to my community and make a difference in small ways.
Lastly, I made sure to spend quality time with my family, helping with household chores, cooking meals, and engaging in games and discussions. This strengthened our family bond and allowed me to relax and enjoy the holiday.
Grace, by planning my days carefully and combining learning, skill acquisition, and service, I felt very accomplished by the end of the holiday. I realized that holidays can be both fun and productive if we manage our time wisely.
I hope this inspires you to plan your next holiday in a way that balances productivity and relaxation. Please write back and tell me how you spent your last holiday. I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours lovingly,
Temitope
