Speech on The Dangers of Cultism Among Students

Question: Write a speech to be presented at your school assembly on the dangers of cultism among students.

The Principal, dedicated teachers, fellow students, ladies and gentlemen, good morning.

It is both an honour and a duty to stand before you this morning to speak on a matter that threatens the future of many young people: the dangers of cultism among students.

Cultism, as we know, refers to secret groups that operate with strange beliefs, harmful practices, and destructive intentions. Sadly, this menace has spread across schools, drawing students into its dark web. Many who thought cultism would make them powerful or respected have ended up destroying their lives.

First, cultism leads to violence and insecurity. Members often engage in fights, intimidation, and even killings. This creates fear in schools and communities, disrupting learning and peace. A school where cultism thrives cannot provide a safe environment for academic success.

Secondly, cultism promotes drug abuse and immorality. Many cult members indulge in hard drugs and alcohol to prepare for violent activities. This destroys their health, damages their reasoning, and ruins their future.

Furthermore, cultism results in academic failure. Instead of focusing on their books, cultists waste their time on meetings, fights, and reckless activities. In the end, they drop out or graduate with poor results. Cultism is, therefore, an enemy of education.

Another danger is crime and imprisonment. Cultists are often involved in armed robbery, rape, and other unlawful activities. The law catches up with them sooner or later, leading to shame, imprisonment, or even death.

My dear fellow students, we must never allow ourselves to be deceived into joining any cult group. True respect and greatness do not come from violence or secret rituals. They come from hard work, good character, and academic excellence. A cult-free life is a safe and successful life.

Teachers and parents also have a role to play by educating young people on the dangers of cultism and by providing guidance and support to those who may feel pressured to join such groups.

In conclusion, cultism is a dangerous trap that destroys dreams, wastes lives, and ruins families. Let us all say “No” to cultism and “Yes” to education, peace, and progress. Remember, he who joins a cult digs a grave for his own future.

Thank you for listening.
